The Rural Obstacle Course
July 11, 2006 by Craig.
Just the other day, Ida was driving along a country road that we frequently use. As she approached a small bridge, she noticed an obstruction protruding from the road in her lane. She decided that she would try to straddle the object instead of risking a tire, should a tire strike it instead. As she approached the object, she noticed that it was much larger than she had anticipated, but it was too late. BANG! Read the rest of this entry »

Hello world!
July 10, 2006 by Craig.
Welcome to our new blog For Pretty Hands!®
The purpose of this blog is to provide a forum for new and up-coming drivers to ask questions and share information about driving, vehicle maintenance, and pretty much anything that has to do with driving and/or maintaining your vehicle.
I am Craig, the administrator of this blog. My wife (Ida) and I produced the video, “Basic Car Maintenance For Pretty Hands!®” Although we’re not certified automobile technicians, we do have an interest in helping young drivers (or just about anyone), which have a desire to work on their own vehicles, in obtaining information to help them do just that. I guess that’s why we produced our video!!
Although I’m not a certified automotive technician, I AM a certified Airframe & Powerplant technician in the USA. I’ve been employed in the aviation field over the last 28 years, the first 14 of which I was a technician on everything from small twin-engine aircraft to heavy transport-category aircraft, like the DC-8.
Currently, I am employed as a Master Instructor in the Flight Department of a major cargo airline in the USA, teaching the McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing DC-9 to pilots. I also develop courseware and videos for the same company.
My wife has over 15 years experience as a teacher of primary and secondary school curricula. She also home-schooled our four children.
As I administer this blog, I’ll do my best to weed out unwelcome posts. So, let’s keep it clean shall we? I’m confident that our bloggers will be most gracious in this area. All information found in this blog shall be subject to our privacy notice. We disclaim any and all responsibility for content on this blog and do recommend that all posts be considered INFORMATION ONLY, which will not be revised. Always consult the applicable approved documentation for your driving or for your vehicle’s maintenance.
I am sooooo looking forward to “blogging” with y’all. So write away!!
Craig,
Administrator
